Developing Inspirational Classroom Practitioners with Manor Primary School

Barr Beacon SCITT, in partnership with Manor Primary School offers primary training routes in the following age ranges within the Wolverhampton area: 

  • Primary with Early Years (3 – 7) 
  • Primary (5 – 11)

These programmes lead to recommendation for QTS and a PGCE with the opportunity to gain up to 60 masters credits. 

Barr Beacon SCITT is an experienced, dedicated and ambitious provider of Initial Teacher Training and is proud to work with Manor Primary School who also have a proven track record over many years of developing classroom practitioners who will go on to inspire, influence and shape the lives of future generations for years to come.  This aim underpins everything about our training programme and we’re incredibly proud of what we do. Be recommended for the award of Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) by Barr Beacon SCITT.

PGCE

Have the opportunity to gain the award of Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) with the University of Worcester for our Secondary and Primary courses. If you want to find out more about the University of Worcester click HERE. 

60 Masters Credits

Gain up to 60 Masters credits from assignments that demonstrate Masters level study and progression to a higher degree qualification (subject to satisfying the assessment criteria).

Manor hosts the regional Teaching School Hub and this ensures trainee development is in the context of collaboration and partnership with other schools, curriculum hubs, professional development partners and external experts to bring the very best in teacher education to our area.

Hands on from the word go
You’ll be given in-depth experience in the classroom with placements in two local schools. You will also have the opportunity to complete Intensive Training and Practice placements (ITPs) to deepen your knowledge in specific areas of pedagogy.

Support from experts
Away from the classroom, you will receive practical training sessions from highly experienced teachers who are also part of the early career framework (ECF) training provision. This means you will have people around you who also understand that next step in your career.

You will receive regular mentoring by experienced professionals helping you to plan, deliver and refine your classroom activities.
