Celebration Event 2021

On Friday 9th July 2021 Barr Beacon SCITT hosted its annual celebration event to recognise achievements of this year’s cohort of trainee teachers and to mark the first of many milestones in their future teaching careers. Although Covid restrictions meant that colleagues from partner schools could not attend in person we were able to have all the trainees face to face to celebrate their successful year. Dame Maureen Brennan, Chief Executive of Matrix Academy Trust, opened the ceremony with a speech. Headteachers and Professional Mentors from our partner schools gave messages of congratulations and thanks via Microsoft Teams.

Our Outstanding SCITT programme continues to go from strength to strength and we are delighted that for the fifth year in a row, 100% of those that completed the course have been recommended to the Department for Education (DfE) for Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). All of us at Barr Beacon SCITT are incredibly proud of the achievements of our trainees and we would like to wish them every success in their roles as Early Career Teachers in September.

We spoke to lots of talented and enthusiastic future trainee teachers today at the @getintoteaching #TraintoTeach event in Birmingham. If you would like any further information, or couldn’t make it and would like to talk to us, e-mail info@bbscitt.co.uk.
