From gaining my place with Ryders Hayes Partnership, I have been invited and encouraged to attend staff meetings and training days; school trips; school performances; parents’ evenings and the first and last weeks of the school year. All the staff, from the caretaker to the Head Teacher, are extremely welcoming; friendly; motivated; professional, and caring, as are the pupils, providing an instant 'at home' and 'part of the team' feeling. Gaining my place was a real achievement and a great honour – I would encourage anyone to apply.
My placement school has built my confidence no end.
I feel the training I have received at Ryders Hayes School has been very helpful as I start my teaching career. It has given me an insight into different aspects of the teaching role that are very important and how to overcome challenges and deal with problems I may face within my teaching practice. My time on placement has been very helpful at giving me important experience both in KS1 and KS2. I have taught a number of lessons, worked successfully and collaboratively with staff members and gained experience in such things as: planning weekly lessons, differentiating tasks in order to meet children’s individual needs, effectively created and used resources, used assessment correctly and where necessary and created equal opportunities for all children in my class.
Term 2 has made me more motivated and determined for my career. I cannot wait to secure a job now and get into teaching!
I have had great placements this year. I have particularly enjoyed my placements at my home school. I have formed great relationships with the staff and pupils and have really felt like a valued student/member of staff at the school. My teachers have been great role models and I have had the chance to observe different teachers in other year groups. I have also had the chance to support extra-curricular clubs. I have been part of very supportive teams at these schools.
The training provided by Ryders Hayes School was extensive and extremely useful. Furthermore, I feel that the training was varied and thought-provoking.
My term 2 placement was a great learning opportunity and a good school which enabled me to reflect on practice precisely and improve on targets.
The opportunities at Ryders Hayes School are and have been fantastic! All sessions are well-embedded into how we can adapt our current practice and feature some of the current issues that all schools are facing today. Training is always up to date, relevant and delivered of a high quality by extremely knowledgeable members of staff.
My mentor on placement was wonderful. She is a truly brilliant teacher and a supportive mentor who helped me every step of the way. Nothing was too much to ask.
